Il Salone dei Rifiutati is a Social Cooperative founded in 2016, already active since 2008 as a self-managed creative atelier.
Il Salone dei Rifiutati is a craft and creative workshop where initiatives and productions are carried out starting from the re-evaluation of the rejected objects and then become opportunities for work, meeting and sharing innovative experiences.
The cooperative works in agreement with local companies that confer production waste, then converted by the operators as material for educational activities, exhibitions, workshops and training courses in synergy with artists, creatives, public and private realities, building an important opportunity to create courses for teachers of all schools and for social and cultural operators.
Il Salone dei Rifiutati realizes museum installations, interactive set-ups and activates paths of artistic residence and participatory art operations, the result of comparisons and collective reflections involving citizens of all ages.
The cooperative manages the MOON – Museum of Narrative Objects in Potenza.
Il Salone dei Rifiutati organizes and promotes initiatives and aggregation projects that involve and network social cooperatives for the development of innovative inclusion opportunities, supporting and enhancing social solidarity through the criteria of creative action.
Thanks also to the presence of a workshop space, it is possible to create design and construction routes starting from recovered materials.
The spaces of the MOON – Workshop Museum of Narrative Objects, seat of the cooperative Il Salone dei Rifiutati, can host cultural events and festivals.
In the internal rooms, workshops, meetings, presentations, theatrical and musical performances, exhibitions, group readings, audiovisual projections can be organized.
The MOON has a large parking area in front of it and an apartment for residences.
The cooperative provides basic technical assistance services and promotion of local events and social media.
Il Salone dei Rifiutati realizes intersectoral projects aimed at enhancing the territory, developing community projects with international partners, carrying out intercultural artistic paths and research through the practice of creative crossing and joining European networks.
PLAYING 4 SOFT SKILLS aims to develop innovative and non-formal educational tools, based on the development of a new game and a digital application, in order to help students to become aware, recognize and foster the activation of specific transversal skills, so called “soft skills”.
M.E.M.O.RI. – Museum Euro Mediterranean of Re(f)used Objects, is a intercultural artistic project, that is the result of research in the Euro-Mediterranean area, aimed at opening a museum starting from common objects, through a practice of creative crossing aimed at knowing the places of the 10 communities involved.
The Cooperative has an emporium of materials recovered from companies and converted by operators as material for educational activities, exhibitions, laboratories and training courses.
Our kits are born from the desire to give a second life to discarded objects aimed at conveying the educational potential of unstructured materials *.
The kits are different but all designed from those materials, generally considered waste to be eliminated, which instead can be reused in moments of manipulative and expressive exploration.
Our range of creative kits is ideal for school group activities, after school and home activities or as party gifts.
They are designed to provide an exploratory and poetic experience starting from poor materials or as an operating aid in teaching.
The line of kits of the Salone dei Rifiutati is also a proposal for environmental education, a tool to re-read, enhance and transform everyday objects into playful resources and reflect on the potential of reuse and sustainability.
